Las Vegas, NV - Amberlea Davis, a proud eighth-generation Nevadan, passed away on September 4, 2025, in Las Vegas at the age of 55, having lost her battle with colon cancer. Born on April 6, 1970, to Gary and Patricia Davis, Amberlea carried forward the deep roots and traditions of her family. She was preceded in death by her mother, Patricia Davis, and is survived by her father, Gary Davis; her husband, David Schnell-Davis; and her three children, Eleanor, Corwin, and Byron.
Amberlea graduated from Rancho High School in 1988 and earned her bachelor's degree in 1992 as part of the first class of UCSD's Fifth College at the University of California, San Diego. While there, she served in student government and on the advisory council that named the college in honor of Eleanor Roosevelt—a legacy of vision and leadership that reflected her own values.
Following her undergraduate studies, Amberlea pursued her passion for justice, earning her business degree from the Lee Business School and her law degree from the William S. Boyd School of Law, both at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. She went on to establish her own law practice, where she was known for her fierce advocacy, clear counsel, and dedication to her clients.
Amberlea was the heart of her family. She was admired for her intelligence, loyalty, compassion, and humor. Those who knew her best remember her encouragement, her ability to uplift others, her laughter, and the way she made others feel both seen and supported.
A champion of youth and girls' empowerment, she gave generously of her time and voice to ALA Nevada Girls State, a program that teaches young women about government. Amberlea attended the program in 1987, where she was elected Governor by her peers - a cause she continued to support, her commitment to justice, fairness, and community evident in every part of her life.
She will be deeply missed by her husband, children, father, extended family, and countless friends and colleagues who were touched by her brilliance and her care.
A celebration of Amberlea's life will be held on October 18 at noon at 2295 N Walnut Rd, Las Vegas, NV 89115. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Amber's Memorial GoFundMe or Nevada Girls State, which is listed below.
