ANNE FURNO

Anne Furno passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of Sunday, June 21, 2026. She had been in hospice care at Nathan Adelson Hospice in Las Vegas, NV. Anne was born Anne Rosemary Taylor in Bangor, Wales on February 12, 1932. She grew up in Aber, Wales, and wrote a beautiful memoir of her childhood in her book "A Village To Grow In", about her mother and father, Hilda and Fred, running a cafe in the village, and about she and her older sister Betty enjoying the grassy and rocky hills behind the town. Anne was an incredibly talented artist, and she expressed her skills throughout her life through several mediums, particularly painting, drawing, and sculpture. Her home is full of her masterpieces. She had a career as a teacher, teaching first grade students for many years at Foothill Country Day School in Claremont, CA. Many of her students kept in touch with her throughout her later years as she loved and empowered each one of them. Anne had a beautiful soul. She loved and was loved by everyone she encountered. She showed God's love and loved God deeply, and she was a very devout Christian. Her belief in Jesus her savior has come full circle, and she is in the arms of her precious Jesus now. Anne was preceded in death by her father Frederick Taylor, her mother Hilda Taylor nee Dodd, her sister Betty Conmy, her niece Maeve Augustyn, and her son Neil Copland. She was survived by her nieces Kathleen McCarty and Janne Rosecrans; her nephews Richard Samsom, David Luehr and Antony Luehr; her grandnieces Andrea Wilfong, Rebecca Lofton, Erin Lucas, Taylor Luehr and Hailey Luehr; her grandnephews Derek Samsom, Thomas McCarty, Nicholas McCarty and Justin Luehr; her great grandnieces Allie Wilfong, Lacey Wilfong, Betty Lucas and Ava McCarty; and her great grandnephews Darrin Wilfong, William Lucas and Asher McCarty. A memorial service will be held at Palm South Jones Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., Las Vegas, NV on August 5, 2026 at 10 AM with a reception to follow from 11 to 1.
