Brookings, OR - Archie D. LeCoque

Gone but never forgotten.

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Archie D. LeCoque.

Archie was the beloved father to Steve LeCoque, Shawn LeCoque and Danielle LeCoque; and, with his marriage to Paulie R. LeCoque (preceded Archie with her passing) a treasured stepfather to Ken Wood, Kevin Wood, and Steve Wood. Archie was blessed with 23 Grandchildren, 10 Great-Grandchildren; and 1 Great-Great-Grandchild.

Archie was a professional musician for 60+ years. His first full time gig was in the army band during the Korean War, stationed near his hometown of San Francisco. He and his trombone later toured with The Stan Kenton Orchestra in the 50's before settling in Las Vegas in 1960.

There, Archie played in many of the large casino show bands and recorded on numerous albums of the music stars of the era. Archie was a proud member of the musicians union.

He retired to Brookings, Oregon in 1996.

Throughout his life, Archie was a steadfast advocate for wilderness and animal conservation. He enjoyed and respected all the beauty this world had to offer.

Most of all, Archie was a humorous, talented, sassy fellow who always strived to make everyone he met feel like part of his family.

Those enriched by Archie's presence will not soon forget his creative spirit, whimsical wit, and compassionate heart.

Per Archie's wishes there will be no service held, but we invite you to donate to Save The Redwoods League, or a charity of your choice in his memory if desired.
