Las Vegas, Nevada - Billy, 92, peacefully departed this life on May 31, 2025, in his home. He resided in Las Vegas for 50 years.

He was a loving , devoted husband to Velma and devoted father to Michele and Jackie. He is survived by his daughters, Michele Nelson (Glenn) and Jacqueline Coulston(Rick),grandchildren Shelby Plies(Jarrett) and four great grandchildren all of Las Vegas and Betty Ayers of Snellville, Georgia, sister.

He was preceded in death by Velma his wife of 50 years. His parents, Floyd and Ollie Key, Daryl Key, brother, Helen Fogelman, sister.

He will be remembered for his 31 years of service in the United States Air Force, retiring in 1980 as a Chief Master Sergeant . After his retirement, he started a new career with Clark County school district as a vehicle maintenance supervisor for 19 years. Billy implemented the bus numbering system that is in place today for the district. Because of his extensive service and dedication to Clark County School District he was chosen to be a namesake of a Clark County School District bus facility located at 10902 W. Washburn Rd. in Las Vegas.

He often stated that some of the best times of his life were when we were stationed in Arizona, spent fishing camping and boating with friends. He loved spending time with his four great grandchildren, ranging in ages from 10 months to 7 years old.

He will receive a full military honor guard service.

He will be greatly missed.
