Charles M. Thomas

Charles M. Thomas, a dedicated husband, veteran, and distinguished engineer, passed away on July 9, 2026. His passing comes just one year and four days after the loss of his beloved wife, Donna, to whom he was married for 60 years. A former Marine, Charles served honorably in the Korean War. Following his military service, he earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Utah State University. His long and prestigious career began at TIMET in 1964. He later served with the Nevada State Contractors Board starting in 1972, worked with various general contracting firms beginning in 1984, and eventually returned to TIMET as a plant engineer in 1990 until his retirement in 2002. Notably, Charles held the oldest professional engineering certificate in the state of Nevada and shared his expertise with others by teaching construction management at UNLV. Residents of Las Vegas for 61 years, Charles and Donna built a life centered on family. Charles is survived by his two sons, Sam and Raphael; his sister, Alice; five grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
