CHARLOTTE ABAIR Charlotte Elizabeth Shepard Abair, 94, of Henderson, passed away peacefully Dec. 1, 2014, at home. She was born Nov. 22, 1920, in Moretown, Vt., and married Charles Albert Abair Aug. 22, 1942, in Moretown. She moved with her husband and family to Phoenix in 1953, living there for 47 years before moving to Henderson in 2000 to be near their daughters and their families. She was preceded in death by both parents, William Joseph Shepard and Mary "Mae" Harriet Eaton; her brother, Malcolm Peter Shepard; and her husband, of 68 years, Charles Abair. She is survived by her children, Brenda Brazil, C. Terry Abair (Rita) and Wendy A. Kalb (Steve); five grandchildren, Ricky Brazil, Megan Bauman, Justin Kalb, Ben Abair and Hilary Schmutz; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. Charlotte was the consummate wife, homemaker and mother providing support for her husband's career and her children's growth into responsible adults. She loved to read and do crossword puzzles prior to suffering from macular degeneration in her last years of life. Charlotte lived a long, full life and will be missed by family and friends. Her family's paternal and maternal roots are among America's first settlers. Services will be private.
