CLARENCE GEORGE RAY
Clarence George Ray, PhD, born June 7, 1941, in Charleston, South Carolina, died on November 16, 2025, three years after suffering a devastating stroke. He was the son of Cynthia Wright and Luther Ray.
A 55-year resident of Las Vegas, Nevada, Clarence taught economics and statistics at the UNLV during the 1970s, 1980s, and early 1990s. He graduated from the College of Charleston and earned his PhD from the University of South Carolina.
Clarence was an avid world traveler, later enjoying winters in Thailand and summers at his cabin in the mountains of southern Utah. He enjoyed a good Scotch and telling many tall tales...or were they? As a single parent, he raised his daughter.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Anne and Patrick Mullins, and by an honorary daughter, Beth Hurley.
A memorial, celebration of life cocktail reception will be hosted by the American Association of Economic and Financial Experts on March 11 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the New York-New York Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.
