Daniel John Godfrey, born September 2, 1982 in Las Vegas, Nevada, passed away peacefully at UCSF Medical Center in San Francisco, California on September 20, 2024, after a brief illness. Daniel was a remarkable individual, exceptionally intelligent and determined. He graduated from Bonanza High School and in 2006, he graduated from UNLV with a B.S. in Mathematics. He moved to Japan in 2007 to teach English and became fluent in Japanese. He returned to Las Vegas in 2010 and in 2017, moved to San Francisco. He later graduated from Hack Reactor as a full-stack software engineer. In 2021 he moved to the Outer Sunset area of San Francisco, which he dearly loved. Daniel was known for his intelligence, kindness and wry sense of humor. He deeply cared about helping others and left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. He was an organ donor who gave the gift of life to an organ recipient. He was dearly loved by his family. He is survived by his father, John ("Jack") Godfrey and younger brother, Matthew Godfrey, both of whom reside in Las Vegas. He is deeply missed and will be forever remembered.
