DENA (SACKAS) WILLIAMS

SEPT. 15, 1933 - MARCH 2, 2025

Dena (Sackas) Williams was born in Las Vegas, Nevada to George Sackas and Efthalia "Lea" (Anast) Sackas. Both Dena's Father and Mother immigrated from Greece. Dena graduated from Las Vegas High School in 1951, and is remembered fondly by all who knew her. Dena was an avid ballet dancer from a very young age, a passion that continued throughout her active life. In 1954, she married George Williams of Los Angeles. Dena and George built a beautiful home in Studio City where they raised their children, Brandt and Taia. Throughout her life she continued to dance, expanding her talents beyond ballet to include Scottish dancing, Greek dancing and even the Tango. The rhythm of the music gave Dena such joy that she was moved to dance when music played. Dena cared lovingly for George when he fell ill with PSP (advance Parkinson's disease). Dena's biggest joys were her grand daughters, Lily and Paige. She enjoyed any excuse to spend time with them, cooking family recipes, telling stories, dancing, and shopping. Dena passed peacefully with family at her side due to complications of flu and pneumonia. Dena is survived by her son, Brandt (Amelia Williams); daughter, Taia (Peter Siphron); granddaughters, Lily (Christian Hawkins), Paige (Drew Billings); sisterss Maria Newell (Ron Newell), Elaine Chernow (Mel Chernow). There will be no services.
