Donna Elizabeth Morang Andrews, 80, died peacefully on July 8, 2026, in Las Vegas, Nevada, with her beloved husband, Dwight, holding her hand. Donna was born on July 17, 1945, in Brunswick, Maine, to Laurence Earl Morang and Marian Elizabeth Turner Morang. She grew up in southern midcoastal Maine with her siblings, Laurence, Richard, and Janice, surrounded by the people, places, and traditions of coastal Maine that remained part of her story throughout her life. She developed a strong work ethic early and fondly told the story of climbing onto the roof with her father as a young girl to help repair the family home. Hard work was a way of life, and Donna carried that same determination, discipline, and willingness to tackle any challenge throughout her life. Donna had a lifelong love of animals, beginning with many childhood pets, including a memorable pet skunk. She also enjoyed music, played both the flute and violin, and was a proud member of her school marching band. One of her treasured memories was traveling to Washington, D.C., to march in President John F. Kennedy's inaugural parade. Donna met her future husband, Dwight Leroy Andrews, through family friends when they were teenagers. Their friendship grew into a lifelong love, and they were married on April 10, 1965, at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Brunswick, Maine. As a young Air Force family, Donna and Dwight launched from Maine into a lifelong adventure. Military life brought them to Las Vegas, Nevada, in 1972, with a memorable tour of duty in Zweibrücken, Germany, before they returned permanently to Las Vegas. Although Nevada became home for most of their lives, Maine always remained home in their hearts. When they returned, Donna and Dwight delighted in sharing favorite Maine traditions with family, including fried clams and Italian sandwiches, while revisiting the places that shaped their youth. Donna was a hard and disciplined worker in every season of life. Whether caring for her home and raising her children or working outside the home, she approached every responsibility with integrity and quiet determination. A graduate of Oak Grove School in 1964, Donna continued her education as an adult while raising children and working full-time, ultimately earning a bachelor's degree in management and a master's degree in information systems. Donna retired after nearly 16 years of public service with Clark County, Nevada, concluding her career as a Program Analyst II with the Clark County Fire Department. She combined her analytical skills, computer knowledge, and dedication to public service in support of one of Southern Nevada's most vital public safety organizations, taking pride in serving the community behind the scenes. Donna loved homemaking, celebrating the holidays, and cooking and baking for her family. She enjoyed sewing and embroidery and created beautiful, detailed pictures for Dwight and each of her children. She also understood the importance of family history and cared deeply about preserving family treasures, memories, and legacy for future generations. In retirement, Donna and Dwight enjoyed many happy years traveling throughout the United States in their motor home, affectionately known as "the bus," exploring new places, revisiting favorite destinations, and creating treasured memories. More than anything, Donna will be remembered for her love and devotion to her family, her joy in simple pleasures, her quiet strength, and the lasting impression she left on those who loved her. Donna was preceded in death by her parents, Laurence Earl Morang and Marian Elizabeth Turner Morang, and her older brother, Laurence Arthur Morang. She is survived by her beloved husband of 61 years, Dwight Leroy Andrews; her daughter, Katherine Claflin (James); her son, Michael Andrews; her grandchildren, Christopher Taney (Kelsie), Krystle Carbaugh (Joshua), and Jeremey Andrews (Samantha); her great-grandchildren, Hazel Taney, Reed Taney, and LaJuanda Hines; and her beloved pups, Brownie and Cocoa. In accordance with her wishes, Donna will be cremated. She and Dwight were pre-registered at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City, Nevada. Donna's family will celebrate her life privately. Her legacy will continue through the memories, values, and love she leaves behind.
