Emily Ann Nichols

Emily Nichols of Las Vegas, Nevada passed away on October 21, 2022; with dignity and peace at Nathan Adelson Hospice in the Mountain View Hospital. Born Emily Ann Combs, Emily was a proud coal miner's daughter of West Virginia. Upon completion of High School, Emily was recruited by the FBI and went to work in Washington D.C. She met Don Nichols who was also working at the FBI. They married and had their first child, Donna Jean. A few months later they headed to Las Vegas where their second child Terry Ann was born. Emily was a full time Mom while her children were young. Emily sewed most of her daughters clothing until they were in the 6th grade. In addition to sewing school clothing, amazing Halloween costumes for the entire family, Emily was known for her beautiful square dance clothing with matching shirts for Don and many times miniature dresses for her girls. Back in the day, they danced with the Whirl Aways. Emily went to work for Nevada Power Company now know as NV Energy. Emily served in may positions over her thirty of years with the company. Emily takes with her many wonderful memories of fishing at Lake Mead, camping on Mt. Charleston and accompanying Don on his hunting and camping adventures all over Nevada, Arizona, and Utah. The family enjoyed the outdoors with their and dogs and a few camping cats. Emily is survived by her sister Rosemary Withers, daughters, Donna Jean and Terry Ann, her grandson, Jacob Donald, his wife Kassie, their children Dulia and AJ, and the newest member of the family her great, great-grandson, Colt. When you wish to honor Emily's passing, she requested donations be made to the Crippled Children's fund. Per her request, there will be no services.

Plant a tree: How does it work

When your purchase is complete, a post will be made on the tribute wall of the deceased signifying the planting of a memorial tree.

An official certificate recognizing your purchase will be included with your email receipt. You can then forward the email to the family or print it and give it to them personally.

After an order is placed, our forestry partners will plant the tree in the area of greatest need (nearest the funeral home), according to the planting schedule for the year.

Due to seasonal conditions, the tree planting takes place during the spring and summer.
