Las Vegas, NV - Evangeline "Angie" Thompson, 88, loving wife, mother and grandmother, passed away on January 7, 2026, in Las Vegas.
Born in Taos, New Mexico on August 27, 1937, Angie was the oldest of seven children born to Felix and Delfina Sandoval. She moved to Green River, Wyoming in 1948 when her father began a job with the Union Pacific Railroad, but she and her siblings returned to their home in Taos every summer. Angie graduated high school in 1956 and moved to Las Vegas in 1957.
She married Robert "Bob" Thompson in 1971 in Las Vegas, where they raised their two children. Along with being a devoted mother, Angie worked many years in the real estate and banking industries. After retiring, she and Bob enjoyed traveling, especially back to her childhood home in Taos to visit family and friends. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and was actively involved with St. George's Anglican Church. She always spoke of how grateful she was for her family, and the friendships she made through work, her church, and almost 70 years of living in Las Vegas.
Angie is survived by her children, Vince Thompson (Cheryl) and Andrea Hendrick (Kirk); grandchildren Chase Hendrick, Nathan Thompson and Kyla Hendrick; sisters Susana Hand (David), Josephine Prince, and Amanda Brisko (Barry); brother Tony Sandoval (Melody), and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Bob, her parents, and sisters Rebecca and Connie.
A service will be held on Saturday, January 31st at 1:00pm at St. George's Anglican Church, 7676 W. Gilmore Avenue, Las Vegas, NV 89129. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the church.
