Gary William Cook Obituary

Las Vegas, NV - Gary William Cook, lovingly known as Pops and Popsie, passed away peacefully on September 27th at the age of 79. Born in Los Angeles, California on August 16, 1946, Gary spent his early years in Pomona before eventually making Orange County, California his home. Later in life, he split his time between Las Vegas and Park City, Utah.

Gary built a long and successful career as a real estate developer. He was known for his vision, determination, and unwavering belief that anything was possible with enough heart and hard work.

He lived his life as a "winner"—not in competition with others, but in the way he showed up for his family, his work, and the people around him. To know Gary was to know generosity; he gave freely, quietly, and often, always making sure those he loved were taken care of.

He had a big personality and an even bigger heart. His presence filled every room—steady, warm, and dependable. Within his family, he was the anchor—the steady force who held everyone together and led with strength, humor, and love.

Gary adored his kitty, Savannah, and found deep joy in the mountains. Skiing was one of his greatest passions, and his heart belonged to Deer Valley. When he wasn't in the mountains, he loved college football—especially USC. Watching the Trojans play or being in the stadium brought him true joy. Fight On was part of who he was. He also loved time spent on the golf course, out fishing, or on hunting trips. Those were the places he bonded with the people he cared about most.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Debbi; his son Chris and daughter-in-law Linda; his grandchildren Madi, Riley, and Christina; and his great-granddaughter, Winnie, who brought him immeasurable joy.

Gary is remembered with gratitude by all who were lucky enough to be loved by him. He leaves behind a legacy of strength, generosity, and quiet leadership.

Though he will be deeply missed, his family chooses gratitude—thankful for his life, his love, and the countless ways he shaped their world.

In lieu of flowers, and in recognition of his generous spirit, donations may be made in Gary's honor to any of the organizations he cared deeply about:
