GLENA MAE FOSTER

It is with great sadness that we announce that our beloved Glena Mae Foster passed away peacefully. Sunrise: July 11, 1933 Sunset: April 27, 2025 Las Vegas, Nevada. She was placed on Hospice, and for the last seven months of her life, she lived at Dignity Care Home (Group Home) in Las Vegas, and received excellent care while residing there.Glena Mae Foster was one of six children born to the union of Rogie Joe Sowell and Cetta Douglas Sowell in San Augustine, TX. She had several siblings: Jerlene Sowell, Agaree Sowell, Raymond Sowell, Joyce Elaine Sowell, Shirley Faye Sowell, and Thelma Jean Sowell. All deceased.

Glena grew up on a farm where her family grew their own vegetables and raised their livestock for food. She is a graduate of San Augustine High School 1951. Her environment was one devoted to love and service to her family and friends, and faith in God's word. Early in her life she met, fell in love with and married David C Foster, Jr, on July 27, 1962, who has preceded her in death. To this unit were born no children. Glena worked for Blue Cross Blue Shield as a Case Worker for 20 years, retiring in November 1995. She was loved and respected by her many friends. Her legacy was love of God, Friendship, dedication and hard work.

She leaves to cherish her memory and legacy: her niece Debra Volley and husband Dale Volley of San Antonio, TX, two nephews, Major General (RET) Garry Dean, of Arlington, VA, and Don Dean of Plano, TX. She is also survived by beloved family members Barbara Edwards and Kenneth Edwards, of San Antonio, TX, and Brother-In-Law, Batiste J Foster (Esquire RET), and his wife, Mercedes D Foster (Masters Prepared Registered Nurse) of Las Vegas, NV, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Interment: McDermott's Funeral & Cremation Service in charge of Arrangements.

The family wishes to express our sincere gratitude for the many prayers offered and the numerous acts of kindness shown to us. Your thoughts, phone calls, words of encouragement, your love and friendship will do much to sustain us in the days ahead. May God richly bless each of you.
