Gwyneth Elizabeth Davidson Obituary

Boulder City, Nevada - Gwyneth Elizabeth Davidson

1922-2025

Gwyneth passed away peacefully surrounded by family and her little dog July 2, 2025 at the age of 103. Affectionately known as "Gwenny", she was the youngest of 4 siblings born to Harry and Bertha in Wallasey, Cheshire, England. Her father Harry was a milliner making hats at Selfridges London. During WWII, she served in the secretarial pool for the Royal Air Force. It was at this base where she met her future husband Robert. "Bob" was an American civilian who volunteered to help the "Brits" fight against the Germans before the US formally entered the war. Gwenny and Bob rode their tandem bicycle around the English countryside and later were married in a 1500 year old church. After the war ended, they started their weeks long journey aboard a US troop ship eventually arriving and settling in Little Rock, Arkansas. The voyage was made even more memorable by the fact she was pregnant with her daughter Sallie during the crossing. After traveling the country working in radio and electronics, they settled in Boulder City, Nevada where she worked for the National Park Service. They later retired to Carson City, Nevada, where she continued riding her bicycle, playing tennis, ping pong and hiking the Sierras with her friends. She also volunteered several days a week at the local Senior Center working in the gift shop. Gwyneth was an active and positive spirit who always made the best of things. She never criticized others and accepted people exactly as they were. She continued playing tennis into her 90's, becoming an even sneakier player as she slowed down a little. She eventually returned to Boulder City to be close to family and with the devoted help of her grandson Anthony, was able to stay home as she had wanted. She walked her little dog everyday almost until the end of her life. Gwyneth was preceded in death by her husband Robert and their daughter Sallie. She is survived by her sons, Robert (Debbie) and Scott (Kimberly), eight grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
