Las Vegas, NV - Helga Helene Schleidt died peacefully on October 2, 2025 after several years of declining health.

Helga was born in war torn Germany on April 26, 1940. Her parents, Luise and Georg, were hard working farmers. After high school, Helga worked as a bookkeeping apprentice. She met her husband, Willi, and got married when she was 20 and had two children soon after, Sabine and Frank.

Her life with her beloved husband was full of adventures. Moving with her family to the United States not speaking a word of English -- was just one. The Schleidt family lived in Germany, New York, Ohio, California and made Las Vegas their home 30 years ago.

Helga was the ultimate homemaker. Her home was meticulous and beautifully decorated, and many thought she should have started her own interior design business. She loved music, art, and dancing arm - in - arm with her husband. Opera and German songs were often played on her Alexa and Georgia O'Keef was one of her favorite artists. Helga was also well traveled, having visited many countries throughout Europe, Latin America, Asia and the Middle East. Her home showed many artifacts that she had collected over the years.

Helga loved her family and friends and wanted to keep German traditions alive -- whether it was making traditional German recipes or cakes (with real whip cream) or Christmas cookies. Helga loved to entertain. Celebrating Mardi Gras with costumes was an annual event and the Schleidt parties were legendary and often went into the morning hours.

Per her wishes, Helga's ashes will find a final resting place in Germany.

She was preceded in death by her husband Willi, and is survived by her two children Sabine and Frank. As well as her 4 grandchildren, Ariella, Austin, Max and Casey.
