Jeridith "Jeri" Lee Nixon passed away on August 24, 2023 at her home in Henderson, NV, age 93. Born to the late Frank and Gertrude Potter in Milwaukee, WI, she was raised in the Chicago area and attended high school in Oak Park IL and college at Northwestern University in Evanston IL. In 1950, she married Jack M. Nixon, who pre-deceased her in 2000. She lived in Wheaton, IL for over 50 years, where they raised their two children and supported the community. Jeri was a long-time devoted member of Gary Memorial United Methodist Church. In the 1970s, she worked as a treasurer of student activities at Wheaton Central High School. She found enjoyment and comfort in music, reading and travel, and retained her sense of humor to the end.

Jeri was pre-deceased by her sisters Charlotte Brooks and Lorraine Gordon. She is survived by son Mark D. Nixon and daughter-in-law Lisa Kohl of Boulder City, NV; and daughter Ellen L. Poreda of Maplewood, NJ. She is also survived by grandchildren Greg Nixon and spouse Allison, Daniel Poreda, Alexandra Poreda, and Jessica Shaw and spouse Tim; 5 great-grandchildren; niece Judy Stark, nephew Ray Brooks and brother-in-law Bruce Nixon.
