Las Vegas, Nevada - Jerry Jackson, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother passed away in Las Vegas on April 9, 2025 at the age of 69. He was a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. Jerry had the extraordinary gift to make friends wherever he went. He could transform every interaction with an unforgettable story and his quick sense of humor.


Jerry was born in Big Spring, Texas to Margaret Ann and Francis Edward Jackson on November 11, 1955. He moved with his family to Las Vegas in 1969. There he met and married his wife, Catherine "Kitty." Their marriage was a testament to love and partnership spanning nearly 41 years.


Throughout his time in Las Vegas Jerry enjoyed hobbies of softball, golf, and fishing. He loved being on a lake with his family, always a fishing pole in hand. Jerry enjoyed traveling. He and his wife, Kitty created many lasting memories from their adventures together. Jerry attended the University of Nevada, Las Vegas where he was a proud member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity. Some of his fondest memories resulted from the lifelong friendships he made as a Sigma Chi. Jerry loved Las Vegas and the service industry. He worked as a dealer and floor supervisor at the Union Plaza, Treasure Island, Bellagio, and the Wynn. Jerry excelled in the hospitality industry by demonstrating great pride in his city and providing the utmost attention to his customers.


Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Margaret Ann; brother, John Jackson; and sister, Carolyn Jackson. He is survived by his loving wife, Kitty Jackson; son, Joseph Jackson (Jennifer); daughter, Alyssa Devereaux (Andrew); grandchildren, Darla and Truman Devereaux and Jett Jackson; brothers James and Edward Jackson; sisters Mary Ann (Celeste) and Kathleen Jackson, along with many nieces and nephews.


A memorial service will take place at 12:00 pm on Monday, June 9 at Desert Spring United Methodist Church, 120 Pavilion Center Drive, Las Vegas, followed by a small reception in the Fellowship Hall.
