JOHN STEPHEN DELACY

April 16, 1951 – April 9, 2026

With heavy hearts and profound sadness, we announce the passing of John Stephen DeLacy on April 9, 2026, just days before his 75th birthday.

John was born on April 16, 1951, and was the eldest of three children. He is lovingly remembered by his brother, Jeff DeLacy, and his sister, Jody Tyrrell, along with many extended family members, dear friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know him.

John built a successful and respected career as an architect, spending many years in Orange County, California, before later making Henderson, Nevada, his home. Through his work, he helped shape communities and left a lasting mark through his creativity, dedication, and vision.

While John was proud of his professional accomplishments, his greatest love was his wife, Patti Mooney DeLacy. Married to his college sweetheart and the love of his life, the two shared a deep and enduring bond. Though Patti passed away, John carried her memory in his heart every day. There is comfort in knowing they are together once again.

After retirement, John embraced the things that brought him the most happiness. An avid golfer, he could be found on the golf course nearly every morning, often holding the very first tee time of the day. DragonRidge Country Club became his second home, and he was a familiar, friendly, and beloved presence among fellow golfers and clubhouse staff alike. The friendships he built there brought him tremendous joy and enriched his retirement years.

When he wasn't on the golf course, John could often be found watching NASCAR. A devoted fan, he rarely missed a race and enjoyed following the sport with the same enthusiasm and dedication he brought to everything he loved.

John will be remembered for his warm spirit, his loyalty, his sense of humor, and the kindness he extended to others. He lived a life filled with purpose, passion, and love. His absence leaves an immeasurable void in the hearts of those who knew him, but his memory will continue to live on through the stories shared, the lives he touched, and the countless moments spent with family and friends.

Though we will miss him deeply, we are grateful for the years we had with him and the love he gave so freely. His legacy lives on in the hearts of all who loved him.
