Las Vegas, Nevada - In Loving Memory of John G. Pretto Who lived 62 remarkable years

John G. Pretto, a visionary technologist, loving husband, father and son, devoted brother, and cherished friend, passed away in the early morning hours of a late summer day. His passing was peaceful and without pain, after a long battle with prostate cancer; having lived 22,817 days filled with curiosity, creativity, and connection. Born with an innate drive to innovate, John's life was a testament to the power of imagination and perseverance.

Born in Las Vegas at Sunrise Hospital in the spring of 1963, John was a true native of the city. He attended St. Viator's Grade School and graduated from Bishop Gorman High School, where his early passion for technology began to take shape. He later pursued his studies at DeVry Institute in Phoenix, laying the foundation for a career that would leave a lasting mark on the digital world.

A trailblazer in video streaming technology, AI evangelist and survivor of the Internet revolution of the late 90s, John was a technology luminary both professionally and privately. He contributed to many applications and technologies over the decades he worked in the information technology world.

John co-founded HelloNetwork.com, Inc., a Wall Street-financed Internet startup with over $70 million in funding that produced easy-to-use streaming media applications. As Chief Technology Officer, he delivered world-class software and produced hundreds of streaming events including the PGA, LPG, DNC conventions, AIPAC National Convention, Kelsey Grammer, Joe Walsh, Kenny Loggins, the US Marines, and many others.

Following his time at Hello Network, John served as Chief Operating Officer of comF5, Inc., a publicly traded company offering an Internet-based, integrated communications and online marketing platform.

John was also Chief Technology Officer of R66T Digital Media, the largest multi-published digital content distributor for the hospitality industry in the United States. R66T provided superior user experience to people on public Internet networks.

Most recently, John was the founder of Talent Pros Live, a virtual event production business.

His entrepreneurial spirit and technical brilliance also led him to play a pivotal role in the development of a blockchain-based digital currency platform that reflected his belief in decentralized empowerment and global collaboration.

He also authored an unpublished nonfiction treatise on extending human life titled Human 2.0, reflecting his enduring curiosity and belief in the future of human potential. https://human2.com/

Beyond his professional achievements, John was known for his generous heart, sharp wit, and unwavering loyalty to those he loved. He approached life with a sense of wonder and a deep commitment to building things that mattered—not just in technology, but in relationships and community.

John also was deeply engrossed in the model rocketry community-creating iconic rockets such as Vidroc, the first amateur rocket built with a live streaming camera on board.

John's legacy lives on in the countless lives he touched, the innovations he helped pioneer, and the memories held dearly by his family and friends.

He is survived by his mother Anne, son Gianni Quintano, wife Lee Ann, and siblings Mary, Robert (Lea), and Joseph. His nephews include Ian and Shane Flagstad, Anthony (Mariangela), Stephen and Vincent Pretto, his niece Liza Kerekes (Mike) and sister-in-law, Kim.

John was predeceased by his father, also named John, and his brother Charles.

He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
