Henderson - JOSEPHINE HOPKINS
Josephine (Jackie) Hopkins got her last wish, she died in her sleep in her home May 20, 2025 at the age of 101.
Jackie was born in Kanab, Utah, one of eleven children of John H Brown and Josephine Findley Brown. She left home at an early age and while waiting tables in Cedar City, she was introduced to her future husband John Kenneth Hopkins.
The family grew to four and Ken went into business for himself and with that came a move to Richfield, Utah in 1947. The family grew to include seven children, with one baby lost to respiratory illness in the first month. Jackie was a hard working house-wife who helped Ken with his business while raising a family.
In 1963 the family relocated to Henderson, Nv. It was hard on Jackie to leave her oldest daughters, both of whom had married and she returned as often as she could. Jackie started waiting tables again. She worked the front counter at Woolworths in downtown Las Vegas until she able to find work at the lunch counter at the Safeway in Henderson. She ended her working career at CCSD in 1991.
She enjoyed bowling, crocheting and her family. She especially loved the babies. She lived to see six generations and will be sorely missed. She is survived by six of her children. Anna Xavier, Dawn Casten, Jack (Kathy) Hopkins, Karol (Dan) Lowden, Paul Hopkins, Cheryl Hopkins. She will join her husband John Kenneth and infant son Kenneth Dexter.
Grave site services will be held in Richfield, Utah cemetery July 26, 2025 at 2:00pm with a Celebration of life to follow.
