Kevin Mathew Buckley Obituary

Las Vegas, Nevada - Kevin Mathew Buckley was born in Los Angeles on September 21, 1954, number four of Bobbie and Bob's nine. We all lost Kevin on December 26, 2025. Kevin spent his childhood in Malibu and Pacific Palisades before Bob moved the family to Las Vegas in 1968. Kevin graduated from Bishop Gorman High School in 1972. Following high school, Kevin went to work for Sheriff Ralph Lamb, ultimately graduating from the Las Vegas Police Academy. Sheriff Lamb took the young cadet under his wing, becoming almost like a second father, but Kevin was too nice and too friendly to be a cop. After Metro, he engaged in a number of businesses before finally settling into real estate, becoming a licensed broker in 1983 and opening his own company. Kevin had a natural understanding of real estate and became an expert in the Las Vegas market, widely respected by his peers, many of whom remained lifelong friends. Truth to tell however, there weren't many people Kevin met, from any walk of life, whom he didn't consider a friend. Words are inadequate to describe Kevin. He lived life to the fullest. Whether with family, friends, coworkers, charities, or in faith or business, Kevin was all in. His generosity with his time, his fortune, or most significantly, his love of family and friends knew no bounds. Kevin couldn't walk through the grocery store without greeting and sharing with those he met. He was a special friend and mentor to the young people in his life. Kevin was a man of deep faith, never failing to share that faith and acknowledge his blessings to whomever he met. In the words of one of his nephews, Kevin's energy level never dipped below 10,000. Until the end. Kevin is survived by his beloved wife of 34 years, Silvia; daughter Lisa and grandsons Caden and Dylan; son Jeff Morris (Patricia), and grandchildren Scott, Jacob, Alexandra (Tim) and Audrey, and great grandchildren Daphne and Delilah; his eight brothers and sisters, Michael (Cathy) and Brian (Susan) Buckley, Jan (Bill) Hart, Leslie (Todd) Shaffer, Jill (Jack) Stilwell, Hilary (David) Murphy, Monica (Truck) Buckley and Alison (Michael) Davitt; and his many nieces and nephews, each of whom has a Kevin story remembering the fun mixed with wisdom he so freely shared with them. Kevin dreamed big dreams and had an imagination to match. As a teenager, he dreamed of becoming a late night TV host. He never made it to network broadcasting. Instead, he leaves a legacy of love and friendship, generosity and faith, passing on to family and friends a respect for unequaled manners and hospitality. A funeral mass will be held at noon on Saturday, January 3, at Our Lady of Las Vegas Catholic Church. If you wish to make a donation in honor of Kevin, his favorite charities were Freedom House (https://freedomhousesoberliving.com/) and Boys Town Nevada (https://www.boystown.org/nevada.)
