Kymberly Deann Carlin Obituary

Las Vegas, Nevada - In Loving Memory of Kymberly Deanne Hajek-Carlin (Jones)

November 12, 1961 - June 29, 2026

With deep sadness and immense love, we announce the passing of Kymberly Deann Carlin (Jones) on June 29, 2026, at the age of 64.

Known to those who loved her simply as Kym, she had a remarkable gift for making everyone feel welcomed, valued, and loved. She leaves behind a legacy of faith, compassion, laughter, and selfless service.

Born in Denver, Colorado, on November 12, 1961, Kym spent most of her life in Las Vegas, where she worked in the hospitality industry and lived out her calling to care for others. She was known for her beautiful smile, fun personality, clever nicknames, and her willingness to help anyone God placed in her path.

Kym found the love of her life in her husband, Mark Carlin. Together they created a home where family and friends gathered, laughter filled the air, and everyone felt welcome.

She was a devoted mother to Chad Gauvin (Christine) and Taylor Hajek. One of Kym's greatest joys was becoming a "Grandma" to her precious grandson, Leonidas ("Leo"). The love they shared brought endless happiness to her and our whole family, and she treasured every moment they spent together.

Kym saw the good in everyone and had a special heart for those who were hurting or overlooked. Her home was always open, and she often would invite neighbors, coworkers and even strangers to our family holiday events, because she believed no one should ever feel alone.

Her faith was evident not only in what she believed but in how she lived. She encouraged others, shared wisdom freely, and served those in need. She lived the words of Jesus in Matthew 25:40, loving "the least of these" with genuine compassion and grace.

Her family will forever remember the joy she brought into every gathering. Her nieces and nephews could always count on being greeted with her radiant smile and awesome hugs. She had a way of making each person she encountered feel seen, accepted and important.

Kym is survived by her beloved husband, Mark Carlin; her sons, Chad Gauvin (Christine) and Taylor Hajek; her treasured grandson, Leonidas (Leo); her mother, Velma Jones; her sisters, Kelly Lasley and Stephanie Council (Jerry); and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and so many friends who became our family.

She was preceded in death by her father, Ole Bob Jones; her brother, Rodney Ray Williams; and her brother-in-law, Mark Lasley.

While our hearts are broken, we rejoice knowing Kym is joyfully home with Jesus. Our parting is not the end, only a temporary interruption. The greatest way we can honor Kym's memory is to love others with open arms, an open home, and an open heart.

"Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it."

Hebrews 13:2

"She opens her arms to the poor and extends her hands to the needy."

Proverbs 31:20

"God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them."

**Hebrews 6:10

A Celebration of Life to honor Kym will be held on July 24, 2026 at Shadowhills Church at noon.
