Las Vegas, NV - Les Braun, 84, of Las Vegas, Nevada, passed away peacefully on August 8, 2025 with the love of his life of almost 65 years near his side.

Born in Bronx, New York on June 17, 1941, Les grew up surrounded by his large extended family; his parents, grandparents, and his many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He attended the City University of New York's City College during which time he met, then married, the former Susan B. Weissman. They excitedly welcomed their first child, Sharon, followed by Lisa while living in New Jersey, then Michael, and Jeffrey after moving to California.

Les worked as a project engineer for Hughes Aircraft Company for many years, as well as General Dynamics Corps., and other defense contractors. In his later years he worked as a technical writer and math tutor.

A lifelong learner, Les earned a Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical) from CUNY in 1964, a Master of Science in Engineering from California State University at Fullerton in 1974, and a Master of Business Administration from CSUF in 1983. He also continued his quest for professional and personal development by earning a variety of certificates and diplomas throughout his life.

After semi-retiring in 2001, Les and Susan settled in Las Vegas where they became involved in several clubs and activities. Les was among the founding members of the Las Vegas chapter of the Bronx Club and the City College of New York Alumni Association, hosting meetings and activities in their home. He was also an active member of the Las Vegas Jewish Community Center.

Les had a brilliant mind, a natural musical talent, and an enormous heart. He was a constant fixture at the annual Consumer Electronics Show until his mobility prevented his continued attendance a few years ago. A classical music lover, Les taught himself to play the piano by just listening to the music. He enjoyed entertaining family and friends with his own variations of classic and modern tunes at every opportunity. But nothing brought him greater joy than his four children, 11 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild, to whom Les instilled the values of a good education, financial responsibility, and love of family.
