Linda L. Carlyle McCollum Barrett Obituary

Blue Diamond, Nevada - Linda was born in Santa Ana, CA to Thomas Carlyle & Glenna L McNeely, followed by a sister, Dianne. She truly grew up as a Renaissance daughter in an age of knowing every home economic understanding with an eye for further exploration.

She attended UC Berkley for her BA in Dramatic Arts & received her MA in Theatre Arts from Humbolt State. She and her daughter, Nicole, moved to Las Vegas with her husband, Michael, when he was hired as an Arts Professor at UNLV. This mushroomed into her becoming theatre house manager, teaching, directing, acting, and editor of SAFD Journal & Coordinator of their annual workshop all at UNLV.

Her passions were vast; including historian/writer of the Red Rock region, Roland York, Gourmet cooking, Vogue seamstress, philanthropist, petroglyph hunter, and friend/mentor of so many. She was a proud resident of Blue Diamond since 1977. Travel began from childhood outdoor passions to later places with her daughter and adventures with her BFF/granddaughter Rem.; her last memorable trip was exploring Machu Picchu.

Linda was so loved by so many and survived by her 2nd husband Glen Barrett, daughter Nicole Gazza (William), granddaughter Rem. L. Lord (Troy Shelton), great grandchildren Theodore and Eloise LaDonne, step grandson Steven Gazza (Jamie), and step great grandchildren Logan and Aiden.

Linda would have loved donations going to an animal fund and make sure to enjoy a beautiful dusk and reflect.
