Las Vegas, NV - Marvia Valencia Smith Perry, 84, of Las Vegas, Nevada passed away peacefully Friday October 24, 2025. She was born December 11, 1940 in Los Angeles, California. She grew up in Hermosa Beach, California. She graduated from Redondo Union High School in 1958 where she was a member of the Madrigal choir. After being a long-time resident of Rolling Hills, California, she moved to Las Vegas, Nevada. She had a deep love for all things sparkly and carried that same light in her personality. As part of the Southern Nevada Musical Arts Society choir, she shared her beautiful voice at numerous performances, including when Andrea Bocelli performed in Las Vegas. Her musical tastes went beyond opera and the classics as she was an enthusiastic fan of the band Queen. Later in life, she embraced the challenge of learning to play the piano, finding great fulfillment in her musical pursuits. She was known for her rose-colored, heart-shaped glasses — a perfect reflection of the way she saw the world: with warmth, optimism, and love. To her beloved grandsons, she was fondly known as "Danda," a name that will forever bring smiles and fond memories. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 44 years, Robert Lee Perry MD; mother, Josephine Orduño Smith and father, Marvin Harrison Smith. She is survived by her brother Marvin P. Smith; daughters, Janet McGlone and Julie (Howard) Gersh; and grandsons, Noah, Zachary, Rafferty, Evan and Perry. No services will be held at her request.
