With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved mother Mary Anne Elizabeth (Betty) Girouard - Schwider, who left this world surrounded by love and entered eternal peace on July 22, 2026 at the age of 89. While our hearts are broken, we celebrate a life well lived and a woman whose kindness, grace and unwavering love touched so many lives. Originally from Leominster, Massachusetts she has called Las Vegas her home for the past 45 years. Preceded in death by her parents, Adelard and Anna (Tremblay) Lamoureaux; husband Richard J Girouard - married January 28, 1956 to April 5, 2002; son Andrew; sisters, Pearl Vaillancourt and Claire Quiet and husband William Schwider - married March 23, 2007 to March 2, 2011. She is survived by daughter, Jane Elliott and husband George of Leominster MA; son, Michael Girouard of Leominster MA; daughter, Donna Lee Girouard of Winchendon, MA; daughter, Terry Alvarado and husband Richard of Chino Valley, AZ; son Richard Girouard and wife Susan of Las Vegas, NV; and daughter, Susan Wright and husband Brian of Ozark, MO. She also leaves 10 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and close friends. Service will be held August 4 2026 at Palm Mortuary – Eastern, 7600 S. Eastern Ave LV, NV. Visitation 10am- 12pm, Service 12pm-1pm, graveside prayer 1pm-2pm. Followed by a gathering at her home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital
