MICHAEL D. CAROTHERS

MUSCATINE, Iowa - Michael D. Carothers, 81, of Muscatine, passed away on Wednesday, January 26, 2022, at Trinity Rock Island, Illinois.


A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Saturday, February 12, 2022, at the Sycamore Baptist Church. Burial will be in High Prairie Cemetery, High Prairie Road, Lake Township, Iowa. Military services will be conducted by the Honor Guard of Muscatine City Inc. Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project. Online condolences may be made at www.wittichfuneralhome.com.


Mike was born on August 17, 1940, in Los Angeles, California, the son of Don and Juanita Moody Carothers.


Mike graduated from South Mountain High School in Phoenix, Arizona. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, service on the USS Lexington. He moved to Las Vegas, Nevada in early 1960's, established an insurance agency and serviced his clientele for 50 years. He was passionate about his family and friends, loving life and adventure.


Mike is survived by his wife, Nancy Carothers; six children, Michele Carothers and her significant other, Ken Yepsen, of California, Laura Carothers/Salcedo of Las Vegas, Chris Carothers and his wife, Elisa, of Las Vegas, David Carothers and his wife, Joan, of Las Vegas, Trevor Farr and his wife, Jodi, of Las Vegas, and Eric Farr and his wife, Kyla of Columbus Junction, Iowa; 16 grandchildren; one great grandchild. Two siblings, Jill Botts and Dan Carothers both of California.


He is proceeded to death by his parents, and one sister Diane Predmore.
