Nick Ciccone Obituary

Las Vegas, NV - Nick Ciccone was born in Rochester, NY, on March 24, 1936, and relocated to Long Beach, CA, in 1943. He attended St. Anthony's High School before pursuing his studies at Long Beach City College, where he was an active member of the engineering club, forging lifelong friendships. Nick also participated in the Jaycees and Kiwanis clubs during these formative years.


At the age of 20, Nick embarked on a lifelong career with Graybar Electric Company, spanning over 37 years. In 1966, he met the love of his life, Mary Jane Ougland, and they married on November 19, 1966. Together, they welcomed three sons, Tony (1967), Tom (1968), and Andy (1969), and later, their daughter Lori in 1973. During this time, Nick completed his degree at Long Beach State while working full-time.


Nick and Mary Jane embraced new opportunities, moving their family to Oklahoma in 1975 and Dallas in 1982 as Nick's career progressed. After their sons went off to Texas A&M, they moved to Las Vegas, where Lori attended UNLV. Nick was an active member of the Knights of Columbus, achieving the 4th degree and serving as a grand knight while in Oklahoma.


Nick was known for his generosity, always willing to help others and opening his home to anyone in need. He was honored to be the best man at seven weddings and godfather to seven children.He was incredibly proud of his children and grandchildren and their goals of chasing their dreams. His character, sense of humor, and grace were the hallmarks of his life, along with his unending love for Mary Jane, his bride of 58 years.


Nick was preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Michelena, and his sister Jeanette. He is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Jane (Ougland) Ciccone; his sons, Tony, Tom (Maile), and Andy (Amelia); his daughter, Lori (Sym); his seven grandchildren, Nic, Erik, Sam, Marc, Christopher, Andrew, Claire, his sister Joyce (Nick) Hooper, sister-in-law Betty Ann Ougland, brother-in-law Erik Ougland along with many nephews, nieces and countless cousins.


Nick's legacy of love, kindness, and dedication will be cherished by all who knew him.


In celebration of Nick Ciccone, services will be held on Thursday, May 8, 2025. Beginning at 10:00 am with a Catholic mass at St. Joseph, Husband of Mary Roman Catholic Church with the Knights of Columbus Honor Guard.


Following the mass our family will host a reception at the church hall from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm. Please join us to celebrate our Dad and share stories, laughter, and love.
