Sadieville, KY - Richard D. Lopez, 80 years old, of Sadieville Kentucky and Las Vegas Nevada, passed away on April 30, 2026. Born on July 31, 1945, in Colusa California to Jesus Lopez and Mildred Eileen Lindwedell, he was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and proud Air Force veteran.

Following his service to the country, Richard built a successful career working for the State of Nevada. Above all, he cherished his family. He married his beloved wife, Patricia, in 1991 and together they built a life filled with love and laughter. As a father and stepfather, he was a guiding light to his children, Rick and Leora, and stepchildren, Bo and Polly. As a grandfather, he took immense pride in his grandchildren, Jaxin, Josh, Ashley, Gage, Andrew, Ricky, Annie, and Little Leora. Richard enjoyed fishing, shooting, and gardening and was known for his cooking skills, positivity, love of gadgets, and sense of humor.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, brother Bobby, and sister-in-law Tanie. He is survived by his wife, children, stepchildren, grandchildren, and brother, Vic. Richard's military funeral will be held on Monday, June 1, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Sutter Cemetery in Sutter, California.
