Las Vegas, NV - Richard Teng, 74, of Las Vegas, NV passed away peacefully in his home on September 26, 2025 surrounded by his family after a yearlong battle with Glioblastoma.

Richard was born on July 31, 1951 in Kowloon, Hong Kong and immigrated to the United States in 1966 with his family. He is survived by his wife Mai Le; daughter Michelle; step-daughter Ally Tran; brothers Vitus(Carolyn), Francis(Tina); sisters Rosa(Fee), Teresa(Martin), Tina; nephews Jason and Brett; nieces Jennifer and Stephanie. He was predeceased by his parents Chuck Lap and Stella King-Wang Teng.

Richard lived most of his life in the local area. After graduating from Rancho High School and the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, he earned his B.S. in Accounting and Business Administration and subsequently obtained his CPA certification. The majority of his professional career was dedicated to the gaming industry, working with the Nevada Gaming Control Board, Spectrum Gaming Group, and served the City of San Jose Police Department(CA) proudly in a prestigious tenure for a period in excess of 20 years with the distinct position as the lead Gaming Regulatory Administrator.

Richard will be remembered for his immense love and devotion to his family, his wonderful sense of humor and infectious laugh, the profound impact he had on every life he encountered, love of traveling the world, and making lifelong friendships along the way. He will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.

A memorial service will be held on October 16, 2025 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church (1811 Pueblo Vista Dr.) with visitation at 10:30 a.m. and Mass service at 12:00 p.m. A graveside service at 2:00 p.m. in the Teng Family Garden at Palm Northwest Mortuary & Cemetery (6701 N. Jones Blvd.), followed by a reception for all family and friends.
