Ronald Lee Tackett (Ron) Obituary

Ronald Lee Tackett stepped into heaven at 6:45am on April 28.


Ron was born on October 30, 1933 to Arthur and Maxie Tackett in a barn at Lick Creek in Magoffin Country, Kentucky. He was the oldest of 4 children. He went to school in Salyersville, KY. At the age of 18, He joined the United States Air Force. He served from November, 1951 to November, 1955. He was a Korean War Veteran. After the war ended, He was stationed at Nellis Air Force Base in Las Vegas, NV.


In Henderson, NV he met a cute girl on roller skates, Erma Jeane Killebrew. They dated and were married on November 24, 1955.


He worked at Timet and then became a linen man with American Linen. He worked for the Linen company for 40 years until he retired in 1998.


Ron is survived by his daughter Sydney and her husband Russell, His son Allen and his wife Ellie, and his daughter in law Liann. Grandkids, Rusty, Tami, Kelli, Courtney, Isaac, Candace, David, James, Caitlin, Aubrey, Shelby and Ashley. Great grandkids: Tanner, Hunter, Grace, Madi, Charley, Logan, Hudson, Emmalynn, Perry, Isaac, and Conner


Ron is preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Erma. His youngest son, Perry. His Parents, Arthur and Maxie Tackett, Siblings, Barbara Patrick, Bobby (Ducker) Tackett and Helen Welch.


Ron was a devoted member of the Victory Road Church of Christ for over 60 years. He was a faithful leader in the church. He lead singing, served as treasurer, maintained the grounds and the upkeep of the building.


He is remembered best by his distinct whistle, positive attitude and peppermint ice cream. He never met a stranger. He will be deeply missed not only by family and friends but also by anyone who met him, cause that's just the kind of guy we was.


A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, May 16th at 10am at Henderson Palm Mortuary, 800 South Boulder Highway, Henderson, NV 89015. A Military Funeral Honors Ceremony will follow the Celebration Service. A dessert reception will be held at 1:30pm at The Victory Road Church of Christ.


In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to the building fund at Victory Road Church of Christ, 104 W. Victory road, Henderson, NV 89015
