SANDRA (BUSHONG) ATKINSON

Sandra (Bushong) Atkinson, a devoted wife and mother, passed away peacefully at home on September 8, 2024, at the age of 72. Born in Phoenix, Arizona, in 1952. Sandy was the proud mother of ten children, eight daughters and two sons. She was also a mother to more than eighty foster children over more than twenty years. She is survived by her beloved husband of 42 years, her children, 18 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.

Sandy was a woman of remarkable conviction and strength. Her loyalty and dedication as a wife and mother were evident in every aspect of her life. She was a caregiver at heart always willing to lend a hand to those in need, offering kindness and compassion without hesitation .

An artist at heart, Sandy found joy in painting, expressing herself through her art, and she had a special love for animals. Her creativity and love for nature were just few of many ways she enriched the lives of those around her. She was strong willed yet kind and her generous spirit will be remembered by all that had the privilege to know her.

Sandy leaves behind a legacy of love, care, and devotion. Her family will forever cherish the memories they shared with her, and her spirit will continue to guide and inspire them. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten. A private celebration of life is planned for a later date.
