Las Vegas, Nevada - Shirley Tefs, age 91, passed away on October 29, 2025, in Las Vegas, Nevada. She was born on September 7, 1934, in Chicago, Illinois, to Leo and Esther Eagleton, who preceded her in death.

Shirley was devoted to her beloved husband, Charles Tefs, the love of her life, who predeceased her. She was also preceded in death by her son, Dan Lupinski, and her namesake, Shirley Cox, daughter of her sister Delores Cox.

Shirley graduated from Chicago Vocational High School and began her career as a telephone operator for Illinois Bell. Later, she worked in accounting for the insurance administrator Mack and Parker in Chicago, where she was known for her reliability, strong work ethic, and attention to detail.

Shirley had an extraordinary knack for winning. Her move to Las Vegas felt natural, as she seemed to possess an uncanny ability to turn a single raffle ticket into a prize. Over the years, she won numerous contests, including an American Motors Javelin from WLS Radio in Chicago and a cruise where she met actor Telly Savalas. She enjoyed bingo, slot machines, and video poker, and even hit a royal flush with a memorable payout. Her good fortune, adventurous spirit, and sense of fun were well known to those... Shirley is survived by her son, Bruce Allen; her grandchildren, **Gena Sobyra**, Christopher Tefs, and Michael Tefs; her stepdaughter, Kerri Roberts, and Kerri's children, Leah, Jeremy, and Max Delgado; and her niece Joey Cox, daughter of Delores Cox. She was also preceded in death by her brother, William Eagleton, a United States Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War, who is survived by his daughter Donna Anderson of Arizona. Her niece Linda Lyn Pappas of Utah also preceded her in death.

Shirley's family takes comfort in knowing that she has gone home to the Lord and has earned her wings. They believe she is now reunited with her husband, Charles, together again in that "big casino in the sky."
