Tamar Lubin-Saposhnik Obituary

TAMAR LUBIN SAPOSHNIK

Tamar Lubin Saposhnik, a cherished member of the Las Vegas community, passed away peacefully on April 8, 2025, at the age of 91.

Born in Jerusalem in 1934, Tamar met her husband Paul in Haifa. They soon married and immigrated to the United States, where they raised their three children.

Driven by her love of Judaism and her deep connection to Israel, she dedicated her life to the education of children. After receiving her Ph.D. from the University of Rochester and moving to Las Vegas, Tamar made a lasting impact as the head of the Hebrew Academy, where she worked tirelessly to build a strong foundation for Jewish education in the region. Her leadership and vision transformed the institution into a respected center of learning—what is now known as the Adelson School—leaving a legacy that continues to benefit future generations.

Known for her unwavering dedication and strong convictions, Tamar was admired and respected by colleagues, students, and families alike. Her work extended beyond the classroom as she became a pillar of the Jewish community in Las Vegas, contributing meaningfully to its growth and vitality.

Tamar is remembered not only for her professional accomplishments but also for her intellect, wit, and generosity. She touched countless lives and left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her.

She is survived by her loving family: sons Jonathan and Doron (Dan), daughter Thalia (Karny), daughters-in-law Laurie and Sydney, son-in-law Itay, and grandchildren Raffaele, Daniel, Karny, Alexander, and Natalie.
