Terrell Neal Tavernetti, 82, a seventh generation Californian, passed away on January 6, 2025 in Las Vegas, Nevada after a lengthy illness.

Terry was born in Salinas, CA on December 30, 1942 to Elton Tavernetti and Eva C. Hansen Tavernetti. He graduated from North Salinas High School in 1960. Prior to receiving his Bachelor's Degree in Police Science from Long Beach State College, he interned for a summer in the California Forestry Division and then served in the United States Navy. After receiving his degree he worked for the Fountain Valley Police Department where he was a decorated officer.

A patriot, he loved his country and family and valued the friendships he made along the way. Upon his retirement from the police department, he and his best friend John Masterton opened a Private Investigation Agency for a period of time. From there, he moved to Las Vegas, Nevada where he worked for MGM Corporation in Security. He enjoyed following sports but his true love was playing golf at which he excelled.

Terry is preceded in death by his father Elton (1988), his mother Eva (1995) and his sister Lynne Tavernetti (2015). He is survived by his daughter Sarah Tavernetti Silvestros (Pavlos) of Las Vegas, Nevada; granddaughter Alexandra Silvestros; sister Pamela Bugland (Bruce) of Hurricane, Utah; brother Martin Tavernetti of Lancaster, CA; nephew Michael Ebel of Salinas, CA and many close cousins. He truly will be missed by his family.
