WAYNE JACKSON BROWN

Wayne Jackson Brown (Brownie), 89 years old was born July 29, 1935, in Fort Ashby, West Virginia to parents Cecil and Virginia Pauline Brown. He passed away peacefully on March 21, 2025, while surrounded by his loving children. He was raised on his family's farm in Keyser, W. VA. At the age of 17 he joined the US Navy and served in the Korean War. He was proud to be a Veteran and to have served his country. He loved sharing his experiences from being in the Navy and everyone enjoyed listening to his hilarious stories of hanging out with his Navy buddies. In 1957 he met the love of his life Arla, and was soon married at the Silver Bells Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas. They resided in California with their children until moving to Las Vegas in 1969. Soon after, they opened their own business (Brownie's Appliance Service). After 20 years they sold their business and later retired in Utah, where they resided for 25 years, then moved back to Las Vegas to be closer to their children. After 67 years of marriage, he lost Arla unexpectedly in December 2024, and he was never the same without her. He was heartbroken and it was apparent he had lost his will to go on without her within that 3 month period. They are now reunited and with their sons and family members living in eternal peace with our Heavenly Father. In life, he was full of personality, charisma, talent and wit. He was gifted with a beautiful singing voice and loved writing/recording music and performing in lounge shows on the old Las Vegas strip. He had a warm heart and was a kind sweet soul. He never had a bad word to say about anyone. He brought out the very best in everyone he met. He filled our home with love, laughter and music. As kids growing up, we would be woken up in the mornings by him singing a funny catchy song as loud as he could to get us out of bed and off to school. Our favorite memory is his infamous catchphrase he'd say around the house every few weeks, which was, "Wow, you kids, I just can't wait until tomorrow, because I get better looking every day!" He was blessed with good looks and had no qualms bragging about it with his engaging personality and humor. He had a knack for cooking and grilling and was known for his ever-so-tasty Brown's bbq ribs. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, pop pop and friend. How blessed we all were to have such an amazing and loving soul in our lives. Our beloved Daddy is singing and soaring with the angels now. Love never dies, and our love is under his wings lifting him to his next adventure. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Arla Brown, his sons, Wayne Brown, Jr. and Anthony Brown, his grandson, Roger Valdez, II, brothers, Harold Brown, Charles Brown, Leonard Brown, Raymond Brown. He is survived by his children Karol Torres (David), Robin Whitten, Jenny Brown, Timothy Brown (Mauricio), Richard Brown (Rochelle), 8 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren, his brother Larry Brown, sister Donna Shock, as well as many nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, May 30, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Emerald at Queensridge, 891 S. Rampart Blvd. Las Vegas, Nevada. If you will be attending, please RSVP at Vegasjen@icloud.com.
