WILLIAM "BILL" MANN

Bill Mann peacefully departed his life in his home on May 30, 2025. Bill was born on August 22, 1954, in Des Moines ,Iowa to the late Vincent Mann and Barbara Winder. He attended North Platte High School in North Platte, Nebraska. From there he went on to pursue his lifetime dream and ambition by attending cosmetology school in Omaha, Nebraska. In 1981, he planned a six-month vacation to Las Vegas and wound up living here while practicing his vocation until the day of his passing.

Many people knew Bill as the guy with the beautifully groomed long hair. He has been in the hair styling and coloring business for some 40 years. Bill's clients were very special to him for he treated them with gentleness and respect. Some of his clients have been coming to him for years and they appreciated his wonderful work, generosity and gift to gab.

He has had quite the career that involved working with Vidal Sasson, Calvin Klien, Bob Mackie, and Geoffrey Beane. He assisted Peter Hantz in introducing and teaching the new technique of doing a perm-wrapped on a rod and neutralizing on the roll. Through the years Bill has owned 3 successful beauty salons on the East side of Las Vegas. Bill had helped many performer with their hair (wigs) to enhance their look and character, from impersonators to beauty queens and even Liberace. He was very active in bowling for 20 years where he styled the hair of many of the top 10 professional women bowlers.

Bill's caring nature was shown through his involvement with many charitable organizations such as Safe House and Safe Nest. He was an unselfish and kind individual with a talent that he used wisely to help people, all of whom will greatly miss him.

Bill is survived by two step sisters, Michael (Hansen) Humphreys and Dianne (Hansen) Mattocks; one step brother, William Hansen; several nieces and nephews,; and a domestic partner for 40 years, John McGrath.

His legacy will live on through all those whom he helped pursue their profession in hair styling and coloring. By Bill's request, there will be no services.
